Any software deliverable greater than 3 to 4 years is very high risk. That is either in selling a software deliverable to a customer or an investor. Both are a sell but it's a matter of selling a commitment to yourself in regards to delivery. Do you commit yourself knowingly? And a deliverable may be just a proof-of-concept baby-step reassurance in reality so it's a matter of which burden incurs the most liability - the investor or the customer(s), for the long term goal of comprehensive AGI dev which may take 5 to 10 years...
