This one's been had before; basically some of us (myself included) find we're much more likely to read a mailing list than a blog or web forum, simply because there are too many of the latter to keep track of, whereas all mailing lists can be accessed on a single page. Happily the Internet can contain more than one entity, so it is possible for you (who prefers a web page) to use one of the existing ones or create your own, while also keeping this list as a mailing list.
