Did you read the following definition somewhere? "General intelligence is the ability to gain knowledge in one context and correctly apply it in another." I found it in notes I wrote for myself a few months ago and I'm not sure now about the origin. Might be one of my attempts, might not be. I ran a quick google search (web and my emails) - no hit.
