My colleagues at Biomind LLC and I have released an open-source AI-for-bioinformatics toolkit, in Java, at http://code.google.com/p/openbiomind/ In fact it contains some uniquely powerful machine learning methods that could be used in domains besides bioinformatics, but it's currently been applied mainly in the bioinformatics domain and the documentation focuses there. It is not really AGI-oriented, it's a narrow-AI toolkit for data-analysis via advanced pattern-recognition.
