Is it fair to say that current AI involves an absence of imaginative reasoning? - reasoning that is conducted more or less exclusively with and in images. For example, an animal/ human predicting which way a predator/prey/sports opponent will move; a designer redesigning a font (the letter T, say), or a chair, or an ipod; a Riemann or a Mandelbrot perceiving that geometry can be applied to new kinds or dimensions of form.
