My question is: how do they know your 
vegetable association? The best I can come up with is - the penultimate 
association (1+7=) EIGHT suggests GRATE is what you do to a carrot. Any better 
explanations? And, whatever the explanation, how does the brain (or your 
brain) make the relevant associations from EIGHT to
