I think this is not really related to Agilo, but more to Scrum in 
general, right?

And for most situations, you should probably put it in the product 
backlog. Actually these customizations are developed by the same people 
as the core product, right? So you still need to solve the issues 'which 
customization should be implemented first?', 'is the new release more or 
less important than this customization?' and 'will the customization be 
finished by the end of the sprint?'

These things you can solve with Scrum so it should be in the 
product/sprint backlog.
