I found a workaround: in backlog.css, I changed the lines 96 and 97 to
table.backlog td.other{text-align:left;}
table.backlog td.other input{text-align:left;}
Now, the values in the text fields are visible (while the fields are
still overlapping).
To deploy this in my local installation, I did a lot of building and
copying of .egg and other files...
Now I'm happy that it is working, but I'm not able to explain what I
did.
In case anybody else needs this, it would be nice that someone who
understands the build proceedings would post a short "how to".
