OK, I now know how to turn of the message from here (http://trac- hacks.org/ticket/4125):
As admin go to the Administration Panel, select General -> Plugins -> tracaccountmanager 0.2.1[...] and deactivate the EmailVerificationModule. As the EmailVerificationModule seems not to be documented at trac- hacks.org, I can't tell what it turns of and if this is vital (would guess it checks for a valid email address ;) ).
