Currently a team member can be only member of one team as you already noticed. The only workaround is to create two different users.
One reason we did not invest the time in building a more sophisticated solution is that we generally advise against doing it because this team member will experience a lot of overhead and less productivity in his daily work.
However we're thinking to build something like that as part of our 'Agilo Pro' offerings (nothing committed yet though).
