Just a related question, as I did not find an explanation in your
link:

Currently we have installed the free version using easy_install and so
forth, all manually.

To upgrade which approach would be the best:
1. Simply download the windows installer and run it on top?
2. Fetch the pro version via easy_install from which url? Same url as
the free version??
3. Uninstall the old version and then manually copy the old db to the
new installation, creating identical env and other?
