Hi everybody,

Just so people can find this info, here's how I changed the root
password on the Agilo virtual machine in VMware:
- boot with a console
- press "e" when you get to the mostly blue GRUB screen where you can
select "single user".
- press arrow down to go to the kernel line, it's now white.
- press "e"
- you can now edit it.
- change "ro" to "rw"
- append "init=/bin/bash"
- after editing, mine was:
kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.26-1-686 root=/dev/sda1 rw quiet init=/bin/
bash
- press enter
- press "b" to boot
- wait a bit...
- enter "passwd" at the prompt (which should read: root@(none):/#)
- pick a password, then repeat it.
- reboot (i used vmware to power down)

Now when you ssh as a regular user, like agilo, or any user you
created with the elastic controlpanel, you can su root with the
password you entered.

I needed this, because in an attempt at security, I deactivated the
agilo user with the elastic controlpanel, only to discover that the
user I created is not a SUDOer. Neither was the agilo user, after I
reactivated it.

Thanks to Martin at Agile42, who replied within hours, I was able to
find above fix and I now add it to the group to show my gratitude and
to help anybody who may have similar selfinflicted pains.
