Not sure what you mean. When the popup dialog is open, you cannot
trigger new dialogs (since the backlog is in the background). Am I
missing something?

What I'm missing here is:
1. Larger area for specifying ticket
You can enlarge this area by clicking the lower right corner of the
textarea box of the description and changing its size (Safari and Google
Chrome only).
2. Possibility to set comments there
There's a link to the full ticket edit page that shows the comments on
the very left of each backlog entry (the link of the ticket id).
3. Can I customize myself and where is it?
You cannot customize the dialog beyond adding and removing custom fields
for tickets.
