What operating system is running on the machine you want to install Agilo on? If you want to try out Agilo, the quickest ways are the Live Demo (link on the homepage) and the appliance. If you have a virtualization software, with the appliance you don't need to install anything and you can use it right away (the download file includes instructions for getting started). Eggs are basically binary packages in the Python jargon. Almost every OS comes with Python installed, you just need to figure out what version it is and download the right egg. The documentation for the installation process has definitely room for improvement, but feel free to ask and you will get help here.
