Initially we were annoyed by that change too.  However, as it stands, if 
the default tab were edit, then you wouldn't be able to see ticket comments 
and reading a ticket is the more common case of editing a ticket so that 
might be more annoying.  A single view that was mentioned above seems ideal 
but I don't think have the edit pane as the default would be.
