The heart of my argument is that all of the rules' "deemings" *are* regulated, so you can't add to or change them. You can construct fictions of your own, but they are nothing to do with the ruleset's, and so have no impact on other regulated activity. Certainly, it is the case that all of the "deemings" mentioned in the ruleset are regulated (because they appear in the ruleset!) Moreover, the class of "deemings" so regulated is broad enough to include all possible rule annotations. So I don't see how there can possibly be any unregulated ruleset "deemings". You didn't answer my question before. If you post "I deem myself to be a pineapple", what are the consequences? What aspects of the game-state change, and how is our behaviour required to change in response? Michael.
