Cool, here's the draft of the contract for the contest. This is probably
riddled with holes as this is the first time I've written something legal
for Agora. Let me know if anything needs to be changed.
CONTRACT - Rumble
1. At any time, the contestmaster MAY announce a new game of Rumble provided
that there are no games of Rumble currently going on. In this announcement,
the contestmaster SHOULD announce a number of powers for each contestant to
submit and a number of powers for the contestmaster to submit. [On the
mailing list, sometimes we do games where each player submits one power and
the mod submits powers equal to the number of players. This allows for the
contestmaster to choose between classic two per person and the mod choosing
half.]
2. Upon an announcement of the start of the game, each contestant SHALL, in
a timely fashion, submit to the contestmaster a number of powers equal to
the anounced number in the start of game announcement. The contestmaster
SHALL reject any power if the same power has already been submitted to em
this game.
3. Once every contestant has submitted powers to the contestmaster, the
contestmaster SHALL create a number of powers equal to the number e
announced in the start of game announcement, and announce the full list of
powers.
4. The stamina of a contestant is an integer. It is set to 100 whenever the
contestmaster announces the list of powers for the first time in the game.
If a contestant's stamina ever drops below 1, e is dead and loses the
current game. [Another thing we've been trying on the list is splitting
stamina and energy as to make it clear whether or not a gain of energy is a
temporary gain of energy or a permanent gain of energy. Just here to help
prevent confusion.]
5. Upon announcement of the powers, each contestant SHALL, in a timely
fashion, send the contestmaster a bid on any number of powers. The total of
all of a contestant's bids MAY NOT be more than 100. When the contestmaster
recieves all of the bids, e SHALL announce all the bids. For each power,
whoever bids the highest recieves the power and loses stamina equal to eir
bid for the power. If more than one player bids the highest for a power,
each player who bid the highest receives a copy of it and loses stamina
equalto eir bid for the power. If no player bids on a power, the power is
discarded. The highest bid on a power is referred to as that power's power
strength.
6. Each contestant MAY, in a timely fashion, choose to discard a power.
Discarded powers are removed from the game. Once all contestants have chosen
whether or not to discard any of eir powers, the contestmaster SHALL
announce the beginning of a new round.
7. The energy of a player is an integer. It is set to that player's stamina
whenever the contestmaster announces the beginning of a new round.
8. Whenever the contestmaster announces the beginning of a new round, all
contestants SHALL, in a timely fashion, send to the contestmaster a list of
actions e wants to perform and the amount of energy e wishes to allocate to
each action. This list may contain Attacks against other contestants,
Defense for emself, or other actions as specified by powers. Energy spent on
Attacks, Defense and powers that require you to Spend energy is subtracted
from that contestant's energy. Energy burnt on power that require you to
Burn energy is subtract from that player's energy and eir stamina. If a
contestant doesn't submit a list of actions and their allocations, e is
assumed to be Defending with half eir energy, rounded down. A contestant MAY
NOT allocate more energy on all of eir actions than e has.
9. When the contestmaster has received all of the lists of actions, e SHALL
announce them in a timely fashion. Each contestant loses stamina equal to
the allocations of all other contestant's Attacks against em minus eir
Defense, with a minimum of 0. Then, the contestmaster SHALL announce a new
round.
10. Whenever a contestant Attacks another contestant on a round in which the
attacked player's stamina falls below 1, the attacking player gains 2
points, to be awarded when the contestmaster posts the list of actions of
all players.
11. If at any time there is only one contestant with a postive stamina, the
game ends and the contestmaster SHALL award em points, in a timely fashion,
equal to the number of contestants when the game started times 2.
12. Any player CAN end the current game without objection from a contestant.
13. Any player CAN join this contest by announcement if there is no game
currently going on.
14. Any player CAN leave this contest by announcement.
15. The contestmaster CAN amend this contract without two objections from
contestants.
16. If Rumble is a contest, any member CAN replace the contestmasteras
permitted by the rules, with the contestmaster's consent.
17. This contract is a public contract by the rules of Agora.
