It crosses my mind that a) there hasn't been a message sent to the backup list in a while, b) a number of people have joined in the past few months with email setups that have been playing weirdly with other people's email setups.
This strikes me as a potential disaster if it turns out that the main lists go down and the backup list doesn't work for whatever reason (especially as our standard recovery process requires everyone to be able to receive everyone else's email), so I'm just sending this message to the backup list now to verify that it still actually works.
