This is off-topic but I felt it was worthwhile pointing out to you as
this could well be (nay, will be) a very important area in the future.
It will probably be responsible for yet more barriers to accessibility
-- in which case all the more need to speak up about it now!

Subject: Access issues and DRMs

I wondered if anyone has experience of access issues concerning eBooks
that employ Digital Rights Management? This might include an instance
where a book cannot be read using a screen reader because it is
prevented from seeing the text, or perhaps an inaccessible method for
activating the licence? Or perhaps there was another reason relating to
DRMs that prevented you from using or buying a publication.

I'd be keen to hear from people who do, since we have the opportunity to
log this as an issue with the All Party Internet Group.

I'm afraid the window of opportunity on this is quite short, so feel
free to drop me the briefest of emails, and I can follow up with a phone
call if necessary.
