Hi Shaun et al'
I know that the light Saber should not have any ammo, but on the request
of the server admins, after a bit of discussion as to what should be done,
we settled on limiting the light saber a bit.
Here's why; several players were logging on to tbrn.net and basically
were using nothing but the light saber and when asked if they might use
some other weapons, refused. Yes, I know the light saber is cool, and
believe me, I'm way flattered that my mod is going over as well as it is,
but enough is enough...
For myself, as an etiquette issue, I must say, people may not realize
this, but playing on these servers is a privilege, and isn't free. Perhaps
people aren't aware, but server space and bandwidth can cost quite a bit of
money a month, so the fact that there are people out there who are willing
to host servers for Audio Quake shows a whole lot of generosity. So to
have people basically outright saying in essence, go to hell when a server
adman asks you nicely to do something or perhaps try another way of playing
the game, is just plain inconsiderate and rude to say the least, in my
opinion.
So, considering that people weren't willing to listen, then I was
willing to impose restrictions.
So now, having said what I needed to say, I'll let you know that the
light saber is back the way it used to be, only on the condition that the
server admins are okay with it that way. They or I, can change it back
immediately, if need be...
I've since added a feature to another weapon that can defeat the light
saber, consistently, to balance out the game, and will be adding more such
features in the near future, time permitting...
It's a game guys!, it should be fun!, ya know?! If a server admin
asks ya to perhaps try another approach, is it so hard to maybe give it a
go? I mean really! <smile> Have some fun with it!...
Anyway, there's the story, so have a nice weekend, and enjoy the game!...
Smiles,
Mod Girl

without this ristriction.
At any case the saber should not have any amo.
It shouldn't use any because it does not have one.
