Thanks for your comments on this topic. I went with HTML in the end and spent a lot of time this week researching the best (most accessible) way to do it and implementing that. I hope the results are good for you. I will post a link when the site is finished (I took the opportunity to redesign it at the same time).
Just thought I'd let you know how it was going!
