Thanks very much for your input. Getting constructive feedback makes it worthwhile! I do hope that I can bring work like this and my research closer together by getting more papers on the issues involved, thus justifying further effort from me and others. Things were going like this in the first year but obviously life got in the way for a while and things have moved on whilst I was away. Hopefully I'll at least be able to put that behind me soon :-).
I love doing research but my main gripe with it is that the results are sometimes not really accessible to those the research is supposed to be benefiting. The other problem is getting funding for doing things like AGRIP and other projects that really do try to put stuff in the community's hands -- it's hard to get government funding and almost impossible to get private companies to cough up for something one is going to give away :-). That's why things like this tend to be done on the back of other projects and are always fighting for attention. I seem to have gone off on a tangent there, hehe. The point is: thanks very much for your feedback. I am working on the paper now of course but next week I'm going to take at least a couple of days off and relax and hopefully improve LDL a bit in light of what has and will be suggested. best regards, P.S. Good point re allowing map downloads. I'd very much like to receive the XML files for those maps -- maybe I should set up a website to store them. -- Matthew Tylee Atkinson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> _______________________________________________ AGRIP-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.agrip.org.uk/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/agrip-discuss
