A few weeks ago I urged members of the AGRIP community to try LDL and submit feedback to us via our survey. We did receive a lot of initial interest and endeavoured to help out as much as we could with problems inherent in such early releases of new software.
Unfortunately, by the deadline (which was close due to circumstances out of our control) we received only 7 replies. Alas this is undoubtedly not enough for the paper I submitted to stand on its own and be accepted as solid scientific research. This is disappointing as it was very important to me that the paper be accepted after all the difficulties I have encountered due to idiots and their cars and the setback sot my research over the past two years. Of course our deadline was very tight and that's not anyone's fault -- certainly not you, the community's. However, there is a very slim chance that we have a second change on this matter. There is a rebuttal period opening in early June that will allow me to respond to any criticism from the reviewers. There's a small chance that if I have more results then, I may be able to sway their opinion and get the paper accepted. As you know I am doing my best, amidst attempting to actually finish my Ph.D. to ensure that LDL works for as many of you as possible. I have and will continue to fix bugs and add extra features but this chance of a reprieve on the paper is an important one. This message is a plea to those who have not yet filled in the survey to please do so. It is of the utmost importance to me personally and will definitely help the community as well because we can only develop what you want if we have the feedback that tells us what you want :-). If you are able to fill in the survey by the 2nd of June (5th at the very latest but that really would be close to the line for me) then please do so -- you will be making a difference to both the AGRIP project's future and me personally. The LDL page, at http://www.agrip.org.uk/ldl/ , has all of the information you'll need. best regards, -- Matthew Tylee Atkinson <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> _______________________________________________ AGRIP-discuss mailing list [email protected] http://lists.agrip.org.uk/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/agrip-discuss
