Hi there Matt, and Sebbie, I think I was one of the last people in the last couple of years to discover AQ and I gotta tell ya, I've been playing with it every since, and just a few days after I got onto the mailing list, came the news that you'd been slammed by a car, and yet you continued through all that and still managed to give us a gaming experience that really can't be beat. Just as the Quake community doesn't show any signs of dying out, when I get a reliable box to play with that I can devote exclusively to learning about how AQ works and how to mod in particular, I'll keep spreading the word over here, and be able to contribute something besides lots and lots of questions... I must say though, I do have one question, and that is, even though I have models, skins, sounds etc, set to be downloadable from my server, if someone tries to log on the client drops to the console with a host_error that it couldn't find the map or sound in question. The question then, is where do I look to be able to fix that if I can? I've looked at several files but just to know which one or ones I need to examine would narrow it down. Beyond that, I guess the only thing I can say now is a really big THANK YOU, for inspiring me to learn more about linux and encouraging me to learn compiling and how not to be afraid to try something I've little or no knoledge about. I think it would be unfair to expect just a few people to keep this community alive, so in this spirit, I'll continue to do what little I can, and thanks to what you'ved provided for us, keep the blood flowin'
Thanks again for all the hard work, it hasn't gone unnoticed over here...
Take care and happy future journeyings!
Cheereo!
