Did you already try getting the libconfig-tiny-perl package? If not just do
apt-get install libconfig-tiny-perl
Once that's done hopefully that should solve it. I never got it to
work on 8.4, it just kept restarting the x session, even when I
disabled orca. Hope you have better luck, if not, there's someone
who's got it going on the latest Ubuntu.
