Next, go to the root of this USB drive and create a folder called
com.apple.recovery.boot. Then move the downloaded BaseSystem or
RecoveryImage files. Please ensure you copy over both the .dmg and
.chunklist files to this folder:

On the new Hackintosh, go to the web browser and download MountEFI. This is
the same program you used before, if you created the installer on a mac.
After clicking the link, click the "Code" button, then "Download ZIP".

When this article is written, the new *macOS* Catalina 10.15.4 is
available. And I am running macOS Catalina on my laptop. So basically, I
cannot download macOS Mojave from my Catalina Hackintosh using AppStore.
Well, I was planning to install macOS Mojave on my VMware on Windows PC.
Fortunately, there is a way to download the macOS Mojave installation file
and then convert it into an ISO file.

Before proceeding to downloading and installing the Mac OS Mojave 10.14.1
on your computer, backup all your data. It is important to do so because
installing the OS without a backup can sometimes cause data loss and to be
safe, backing up files on your system is important.

macOS Mojave has two types of installation format. One is via Install
Mojave App where you can directly download from Mac App Store. This option
is not available on Mac with a new version of macOS that is newer than
Mojave.

The other installation media is via Mojave dmg file, which contacts all the
files and boot information for installing macOS Mojave in a compressed
structure. However, you need to burn dmg to USB first before it is used as
a bootable media. Now, you can download macOS Mojave DMG file the following
resources:

You have completed the preparation process in above steps and it is time to
create a bootable Mojave USB installer from the download dmg file.
Unfortunately, the USB would be bootable if just simply copying the dmg
file to USB drive without additional actions because the booting code is
not written to USB via file copy. Instead, you should use third-party
software to help you create a macOS Mojave USB drive from DMG file.

*USB Not Showing up in Startup Manager*: If the USB drive burned with DMG
Editor did not show up in Startup Manager, it means the burning process
failed. The most possible reason is that the dmg file was corrupted, you
need to download it from another source and burn it again.

To start we'll want to grab ourselves a copy of macOS. You can skip this
and head to formatting the USB if you're just making a bootable OpenCore
stick and not an installer. For everyone else, you can either download
macOS from the App Store or with Munki's script.

>From a macOS machine that meets the requirements of the OS version you want
to install, go directly to the App Store and download the desired OS
release and continue to *Setting up the installer*.

>From here, jump to Setting up the installer to finish your work. If you
want to check the integrity of your download, you can check this repository
of checksums (opens new window), although do note that these are
crowdsourced checksums and may not be a reliable way to check for
authenticity.
