Original Message:

I was wondering if there are any free routines/programs to calculate local
Moran's I and Geary's c for raster data sets.
I am also looking for a program that calculates join-count statistics.

I do not know anything for free.

SPACESTAT (www.spacestat.com) might be able to do this.

GRASS GIS (free GIS software) can do things like that.

Perhaps you check the manual pages at:

The web site provides a set of statistical routines.

Look at ROOKSCASE through the ai-geostats software section. Might be some
help
on smaller datasets.

You can try Rookcase program, download from

If you define the centroid of each raster grid with an X/Y coordinate, then
you can use my CrimeStat program.
It's a spatial statistics program for the analysis of point locations. It
has Moran's I and Geary's C along with a
bunch of other statistics (including local Moran). The program and
documentation are distributed for free by
the Crime Mapping Research Center of the National Institute of Justice. The
URL is either:

<http://www.icpsr.umich.edu/NACJD/crimestat.html>
