fyi -- abstract deadline coming right up!
Hello,
Apologies for duplicate mailings.
You either expressed interest or might have interest in participating in a
USDA Forest Service Northeastern Forest Inventory and Analysis interpolation
contest. Results will be presented at the FIA Symposium, October 3-6 in
Portland, ME. (See
http://www.ncrs.fs.fed.us/4801/regional-programs/Inventory/meetings/symposia/default.asp
-- Abstracts are due by late June, but please submit as soon as possible.)
If you submit an abstract for the proposed session, please indicate as much
so the conference organizer can direct the abstract appropriately.
I have posted plot data (not FIA plot data!) and ancillary data at
http://www.fs.fed.us/ne/fia/spatial/interp/index.html
with all of the information you will need to participate. The goal of the
contest is to share approaches for and lessons learned from geospatial
modeling of plot data using GIS- and satellite- based predictor data.
Contest winners will choose from a showroom filled with fabulous prizes (ha
ha).
If you find any obvious errors in the data, or are missing any information,
please let me know. If you plan to participate in the contest, please let me
know and I will include your name on a mailing list for updates and
logistical information as the conference draws near.
Please distribute to others that might be interested.
Best regards,
Andy
