Hi
Maybe you can give a look to the book :
"Deutsch C V., Geostatistical Reservoir

Dear all,
I would like to ask for some advice regarding a
simulation I am planning to compute.
I want to grid/interpolate the depth of a
sedimentary layer. I have two sets of
information: 1. drillings and 2. seismics, the
seismic data give 3-dimensional lines.
The drilling information is supposed to be
exact; I have two different sets of seismic
data: a) with an associated error of approx. +/-
10 m and b) with an associated error of +/- 3 m.
Although the seismic data are weak concerning
the exact depth of the layer, they give good and
dense information about the spatial relationship (nice semi-variogram).
In conclusion I want to calculate a simulation
(with gslib) based on the seismic variogram and
the drillings as hard data, the seismics should
be included as upper/lower bounds for the simulated surface.
Which geostatistical method suits best for this
purpose: Sequential Gaussian Simulation or
Sequential Indicator Simulation, or something else?
Are there papers available dealing with a
similar problem. Of course I have books dealing
with this topic (e.g. Goovaerts, GSLIB), however
I am not a geostatistican and wanted to ask before doing something foolish ;-)
I favor a simulation because a simple
conditional SGS I have computed reproduces in a
good manner the surface roughness which is visible within the seismics.
I would also appreciate additional, general
suggestions regarding this purpose.
Many thanks in advance, regards
Wolfram
