A plugin is a type of extension. Allow quick and easy development, and the most important, is re-usable code: a plugin work in every aiki site,view or languages, without change the widget code.
For aiki core, plugins is a way to change aiki behaviour without changing the core (than can be slim). For example, using actions before user login we can add more login method: filter by ip, key files, openid (with a lot..lot of work)etc. roger
