In using aiki sites, I've been spending too much time moving sites around from servers, between domains and more.
Now, at least that part of the process is sped up with a new app: https://github.com/aikilab/apps-mover All you do is feed in the configs you need to change in the DB, they are set in rg1024's new db which overrides the old configs, and your new site is ready. That means in moving a site, you would need to still: 1.) Dump a database 2.) Import a database into a new database 3.) Create a /YOUR/SITE/assets/apps/mover/config.php 3.5) Make sure that /YOUR/SITE/config.php exists first! 4.) Point your browser to http://yoursite.com/assets/apps/mover/config.php 5.) And the changes should be made to the database. Yes, you can override values in config.php, but I wanted a more permanent solution that can move us to the future, and is more repeatable. Before, we were doing this by dump a db, import a db, count the characters in the value of a config option, then doing manual sql updates. This replaces this step, so I think saves anyone moving a site at least 30 minutes. When we move to git, maybe good to include this. I hope others will try it, and if not, ok, it saves me, Fabricatorz and whoever admins our sites time in the future until better solutions come along.
