Even though kernel.org recommends to run a linux-distro with the newest
stable kernel, this is not possible with some packages installed in
Ubuntu that need own Kernel modules.

You could ask why the patch from

http://packages.debian.org/changelogs/pool/main/v/virtualbox/virtualbox_4.1.18-dfsg-2.1/changelog

hasn't been adopted to Virtualbox 4.1.12 (12.04.2) and why the merge
from Debian hasn't happend yet. This possibly refers back to the freezed
status of Debians Wheezy.

My personal solution is to use the newest package (4.2.6)  from
VirtualBox.org since I don't want to miss out the other bugfixes and
enhancements the programm has to offer. Also I need to use USB 2.0
therefore I also installed the closed source "extension-pack" and use
VirtualBox with the PUEL-Licence. And that since many years...
