Hi Devs,
I am in the process of going through the dependency tree of airavata and
adding missing licenses to the LICENSE file. I am opening up this thread to
discuss any concerns that I come across while doing $subject.
Airavata is having a dependency to javax.jcr jar. It's licensed under[1].
Is it Apache compatible?
Yes, but with restrictions how to use/bundle (unmodified):
http://www.apache.org/legal/resolved.html#no-modification
Note, both the links to the jcr license (and addendum) in the above page *and*
the one in [1] below are outdated (covering only jsr173 == jcr 1.0.
The correct location to retrieve the license from is:
http://www.day.com/day/en/products/jcr/jsr-283.html
And specifically:
http://www.day.com/dam/day/downloads/jsr283/day-spec-license.htm
and
http://www.day.com/content/dam/day/downloads/jsr283/LICENSE.txt
You will need to add *both* (together) to the LICENSE file and then you're good.
For an example, see:
https://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/jackrabbit/tags/2.2.7/jackrabbit-standalone/src/main/appended-resources/META-INF/LICENSE
