Some number of years back a survey was conducted by the AIR to see which
direction the institute should take in regard to Ultrasound registration
etc. It is a pity that the we could not have had the foresight to include
all medical imaging modalities then as it would now give us a very strong
united force to push for the AIR to be the national registering body instead
of the fragmented situation we now find ourselves in. The situation will now
be very hard to retrieve given that it is becoming enshrined in state
legislation which is hard to move nationally.
