From: "Jenny Sim" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Hello Keith Oops! Don't think rote learning telephone nos. will get us anywhere!
One of the important elements of self directed learning is knowing what is it that we need to know, and as you have pointed out , where to find the answer. Having done that, one also needs to be able to evaluate the information obtained critically to determine if it is useful/applicable and to be able to extract the relevant information and apply it successfully in one's context. Coupled with the ability to self evaluate the learning outcome(s).......and then moving on from there..............that I think will get us somewhere :) Cheerio Jenny Original Message: ----------------- From: Radiography WWHS [EMAIL PROTECTED] Date: Thu, 29 May 2003 11:40:32 +1000 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: [AIRNEWS] Post grad management and the shrinking role of = theradiographer? From: "Jenny Sim" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Thank you Ken! As to your comment on "... the more you study, the more you know....", may =3D I also add that the more one journeys on in life, the more one realises =3D how much we have yet to know...and hence learn! :) Enjoy your QLD branch meeting! From: Ken_Spong <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Will do, Jenny. The discussion (if it can be called that) seems to revolve around those =3D who want to extend their qualifications to better direct their future path in Radiography, and those with an entrenched opinion that denigrates such efforts. It could also be that those "knockers" are the entrenched= =3D brigade who have much to lose when the better equipped are put up = alongside them. Seems to me to be part of the cycle of life, if I was to be asked. As for my opinion, the more you study, the more you know. It is = how you apply that knowledge and the experience that knowledge leads you through that makes the real difference. So, for those who still think = that learning more is a waste of time, remember the fate of the = dinosaur. Out of date, out of time. vive la difference! The QLD branch meeting this June 3 should be a wild party. Clash = of the titan viewpoints. Future role of the Radiographer up for discussion. =3D Come one come all. Band aids at the door.
