This is for my direct client opening for *Network Engineer -Tallahassee, FL.This is a 12 Months contract position. The Hourly rate is DOE. Local candidates only. F2F interview is must.* *Description:* Our Client requires one (1) Consultant for telecommunications and network infrastructure systems support. This work will require providing technical support to the IT related operations and maintenance support to the Telecommunication team. *DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES* -Provide after hours support -Manage and lead the effort to troubleshoot and resolve unplanned outages in a timely manner. -Work with vendors and other state agencies to resolve complex network problems. -Document problem and resolution for future use. -Identify changes or additions needed to the current architecture to best support current and future network infrastructure needs -Perform authorized system maintenance as needed. -Monitor network performance and analyze logs as required. -Maintain and update system documentation and diagrams as needed. -Perform other related duties as required * MANDATORY SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE* -Ability to solve problems, both technically and operationally. -Knowledge of LAN/WAN networking, TCP/IP, DNS, WINS, DHCP -Knowledge of WLAN networking including enterprise class security -Ability to communicate technical information verbally and in writing -Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others, as well as work unsupervised when needed -Able to teach and share technical knowledge -Prioritizes and performs a variety of concurrent tasks with minimal direction or supervision. * PREFERRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE* -Four years experience in managing networks (LANs/WANs/WLANs). -Hands on experience with network infrastructure (switches, routers, firewalls, and other related devices) -Nortel experience is a plus. -Telephony experience is a plus but is not required. *NOTES* *Three (3) references are required.* The following information is required: -Name of Proposed Candidate -Name of Reference -Title/Position of Reference -Name of Company/Firm of Reference -Phone number of Reference -E-mail address of Reference All candidates will be required to complete an experience matrix *Please complete the following skills-matrix and send back with your updated resume.* Full Name: Degree Major: Total IT Experience: Total Network Engineer exp: Total knowledge / exp with LAN/WAN networking, TCP/IP, DNS, WINS, DHCP:please specify Total Knowledge / exp with WLAN networking including enterprise class security:: Do you have the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others, as well as work unsupervised when needed (Y/N)?
