MUST HAVE SKILLS REQUIRED: - 4-5 Years of Experience in Informatica PowerCenter 8.1.1/8.6 - 3 Years of Experience in SQL with Oracle 10g - 2 Years of Experience in Informatica PowerExchange CDC with Oracle - 1 Years of Experience in Unix Shell Scripting - 1 Years of Experience in Tibco JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: • Knowledge of Informatica PowerExchange is preferred • Hands-on experience building Informatica 7.x/8.x repositories, mappings (including re-useable objects such as mapplets), sessions/batches with Informatica PowerCenter • Create and implement Informatica workflows • Create mappings utilizing most of the Informatica Transformations • Create mappings using Flat Files and Relational Targets • Understand, translate and create mappings using provided ETL Specifications • Intermediate Knowledge of Databases and SQL • Able to create SQL query statements to identify data discrepancies • Understanding of Full Life-Cycle Software Development • Solid understanding of relational database architecture. Database experience in any of the following: Oracle, DB2, UDB, Informix, Teradata, Sybase and SQL Server. • Familiarity with UNIX operating systems and navigating through file system hierarchies to view log files etc • Understand, translate and design data infrastructure, maps and codes for Informatica Lead • Automation of ETL processes with scheduling tools and exception-handling procedures • Be able to assist the Informatica Lead in developing project plans to ensure Informatica solutions are executed flawlessly • Key tasks include source-target analysis, design of source-target mapping specifications, development of Informatica mappings and workflows and end to end testing of interfaces; • Perform System Test/Validation tasks • Test and Performance Tune SQL • Optimize code performance by analyzing indexes, joins and views. • Development and execution of ETL test plans Document ETL processing and generate required metadata • Work with logical and physical database designs using model viewers • Intermediate knowledge of XML to assist Administrators for managing repositories • Design, Assessment, Client Interfacing, Project Estimation, Lead ETL developers; • Data Warehousing knowledge: Familiar with Ralph Kimball and/or Bill Inmon methodologies • Knowledge of data modeling techniques (3rd normal form and/or Star Schema) • Create advanced ETL strategies including complex mappings and workflows • Ability to create specifications for team members and lead them technically from development to testing to a production ready system. • Understands migration strategies between development, test and production repositories Responsibilities Ensures the accuracy and integrity of departmental data and applications through guided analysis, efficient coding, writing clear documentation, and resolution of problems as they arise. The ETL Developer is also responsible for working under the guidance of a Senior ETL Developer or above to identify problems and to develop and implement system changes. Work is reviewed for professional judgment, support of organizational and departmental goals, and accuracy and quality of performance. • Analyze and translate functional specifications and change requests into technical specifications including an estimated level of effort. • Develop, Test, and Implement efficient and maintainable program logic for existing and new applications in accordance with the technical specifications. Generate clear and concise documentation as required within the programs and application documentation repository. • Support ALL testing efforts (integration, functional, system, performance, UAT, etc) by attending weekly testing meetings, reviewing all defects, and fixing such defects as assigned. • Participate in production support and monitoring activities for deployed applications. • Expand technical and business knowledge appropriate to team and section through reading, research, on-the-job training and classroom training. Abilities/Skills: The ability to work independently and in small teams is necessary, as well as the willingness to work overtime when necessary and to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Good oral and written communications abilities are necessary. Strong Analytical and Organizational skills are required. Knowledge of other software packages such as debugging tools, an e-mail tool, and 4th generation languages are preferred. .
