Essential Functions / Responsibilities: An experienced Windows VC++/MFC Software Engineer is needed to support application development and upgrades for dispatch systems software for railroad industry. Software involves combination of new and legacy Windows SDK, VC++/MFC, VB applications deployed on Windows platforms. Software relies on memory resident database as well as MS-SQL server relational database. This role requires working in a small team of developers. The candidate must be able to attain a system level understanding of the product and take an active role in team meetings involving, architecture, design, development, and troubleshooting test or customer issues. Experience in such a role is required. Software is used to support live railroad systems and some field issues require immediate reaction from the software team. The ability to focus and perform under this kind of intensity is need and experience in similar quick turn-around development efforts is required. Basic Qualifications / Requirements: - Minimum of 5 years of Software Development experience - Minimum of 3 years of Windows C++/VC++/MFC Development experience - Development experience in SQL development using Microsoft SQL Server - Strong background in Object Oriented Design - Proven ability to understand a legacy system and design new functionality - Team attitude oriented for success - Strong oral and written communication skills - Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field Desired Qualifications: - Experience in VB6 or VB .NET - Experience porting applications from Windows SDK to MFC/.NET - Experience in Internationalization of VC++/MFC applications Prasad Ling Technologies, Inc.
