Job Title : *Performance QA Engineer *location : Seattle , WA Duration : 6+Month Contract I have an immediate need for a Performance QA Engineer who has worked on the Java stack here in Seattle As part of our performance team the QA engineer will install, configure and run performance tests. S/he will work closely with the engineering team in debugging/analyzing performance regressions. This is a temporary project focused position. Candidates interested in regular full-time opportunities should apply for other positions. *Essential Duties & Responsibilities:* Create and maintain performance environment Develop performance test strategy as part of the development process. Automate deployment and configuration on performance test environments. Design and execute performance and load tests Automate performance and load test scripts / scenarios Record and store performance data over time for use in trending, troubleshooting, and forecasting. Identify and report performance bottlenecks *Required Skill Set:* Experience with installing and configuring enterprise products Installation and testing of App servers like Websphere and databases like Oracle and SQL Server and messages queues like MQ Series Experience testing large scale multi-tier distributed applications utilizing J2EE, JMS, JMX, JavaBeans, EJB Understand product implementation architecture. Hands on product installation/configuration/data generation/test case scenario development Develop performance models and conduct performance and load test on the product Experience working with one or more databases like MS SQL Server, Oracle and DB2 Development capabilities in one or more of the following languages: Java, C++ or scripting languages such as Perl, TCL, Python, or Ruby Working knowledge in multiple operating systems Unix (HP-UX, Solaris, Linux) and MS Windows Experience managing a hardware lab and configuration would be a nice to have.
