Title: Lead Tester position

Location: Richmond, VA

Duration: Long Term



IT Application Development Tester supports the testing efforts for a large

scale system, including regression testing of a client server PC-based

application. This role supports the Technical Lead in system test planning,

documentation, coordination and system test execution efforts for product

release schedules.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced tester with application

development experience, highly organized, an excellent communicator, and a

team player with exceptional time management skills.

Under direction, participates as a highly technical expert in testing new

software or enhancements to existing software.

Creation of automated test scenarios

Supports test planning activities of team and the team lead Records system

test scenarios and scripts in HP Quality Center (QC) Ensures system test

scenarios and scripts are traceable to and from documented business

requirements Manages defects in QC throughout the system test lifecycle

Works with Technical Lead and Project Manager to identify and promptly

resolve any issues that may arise during testing Participates in daily team

SCRUM

 *Essential Qualifications/Experience:*

Previous experience as a Lead Tester with 9+ years of experience in test

planning, test case design, development and execution in a PC environment

Solid knowledge of client server application validation and testing

Experienced with application testing Practical experience and knowledge in

the following technologies and tools:

Automated Testing

HP Quality Center

SQL Development (MS SQL Server 2000, 2005 and 2008) Operating System

Environments (Microsoft Windows).

Solid knowledge of automated testing practices and tools Must be detail

oriented and capable of handling multiple tasks at the same time.

Possess basic understanding of project management and demonstrates

flexibility and adherence to departmental standards.

Solicits and is receptive to input and feedback from team members, pursues

continuous learning with others in teams, works to instill and maintain

cooperation among team members, and adapts behavior and communication style

to be effective in the situation. Treats all team members with respect.

Actively listens to others to gain an understanding of different

perspectives, provides useful and consultative feedback in a respectful

manner, and communicates to appropriate parties immediately upon discovery

of potential problems and ensures no surprises.

Treats all customers with dignity, respect, and a welcoming attitude, keeps

promises and commitments to customers/stakeholders, seeks and obtains mutual

agreements to deadlines, quality standards, and other expectations important

to the customer, and shows ownership by taking action to ensure customer

needs are met.
