we are looking for a strong SQL Server DBA. Having Oracle DB exposure is a PLUS and not a MUST. Location: East Rutherford, NJ Rate: open SQL Server DBA . Hours-Shift flexibility-most probably 3 days at 4 AM to 12 pm and 2 days 12PM-8PM . Working knowledge in windows and Linux (or any flavor of unix) . Experience with production dba in sql server 2008r2 2005 ( databases, reporting server) Lights-On Support . DBA will work closely with the respective stake holders. . On-call support 24 X 7 on a rotation basis. . Hours-Shift flexibility- 3 days at 4 AM to 12 and 2 days 12PM-8PM, but hours are subject to change to provide off business hours coverage. . Support Database Capacity Planning . Perform daily,Weekly,montly and quaterly Database Maintenance activities (Consistency Check, Index Rebuilt, Update Statistics, Database Shrink, and all avtivities described in AEGIS's Database Maintanace document) . Implementing Database schema related changes in All enviroments development, QA, UAT and production. . Provide Technical advice for application upgrades on database related perspective and provide Technical advice to developers on database issues . Send daily and weekly status updates . Perform Install of DBMS software as needed . Install necessary patches as appropriate Application Support . Deploy database changes to all Application enviroments development, QA, UAT and production. . Database Backup on demand, . Restores databases on demand, . Provide Access to Database server . Emails support on database related matters to project manager, BA's, developers and external consultants. . Troubleshooting and documentation on Database related matters . Provide Technical advice for application upgrades on database related perspective . Provide Technical advice to developers on database issues Miscellaneous . Special Project Work: The resources may be directed to work on certain DB-related projects that implement best practices or improvements and produce related documentation . System administration of certain AEGIS tools like Backup software, Vmware,and other tools where specific instructions/steps will be provided by AEGIS to execute the same. DBAs are not to be considered SME in this area and hence needed assistance for unusual issues will need to be provided by AEGIS. . Research any additional software upgrades or patches that need to be deployed to the underlying OS when upgrading or installing specific DB patches Plus: The following are preferred skills in the resource: . Exposure to Oracle DB Maintenance . Working knowledge of oracle 11g / 10g databases ( rman, asm, sqlplus,datapump ) . Foglight Performance Analysis tool .
