This is my direct-client opening for a *Veritas Systems Engineer – Kansas City, MO* for a 2+ month contract. I need availability to start work, hourly rate, and resume by the close of business today. *My client needs someone to start ASAP – within 1 week!*** What skills my client requires: Expert level knowledge with Veritas Cluster Software and Veritas Foundation Suite (The Vendor is Symantec) Installation, Setup, and Configuration of VCS clusters with Applications, Data Base (Oracle), and Middleware (WebLogic, SunOne Web server, etc) Knowledge of Failover testing methods, and standards for configuration of Failover Expert with the Solaris 8, 9 and 10 operating system - including SAN file systems. My client requires this resource to investigate our High Availability Cluster environment on the Sun Solaris Platform and determine whether failover will occur properly. And if not what is needed to get it to failover properly. This will require working with application development groups, Data Base Administrators, and System Administrators at our client to determine what needs to failover.
