Position: Senior SMS Administrator Location: Pittsburgh, PA Est. Start Date: 10/27/2008 Est. SCCM 2007 experience Familiarity of SMS Server roles and hierarchy Major Duties: General duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Manage a global desktop/laptop environment by using Microsoft Systems Management Services. Ensure deployment of critical patch updates with SMS. Ensure compliance of standard build with SMS and ECM. Test new PC operating systems. Design and deploy install packages for corporate sponsored software. Provide SMS Report Management. Maintain SMS test laboratory, Microsoft patch distribution and testing. Audit hardware/software inventory via ECM or SMS. Initial Project load to include upgrade of SMS 2k3 to SCCM, BDD implementation and creation and push. The candidate must demonstrate the ability to plan and execute new Enterprise Engineering projects. The candidate will provide assistance and support of SMS Systems Design, Implementation, and Systems Databases and Servers Management; administer and maintain interfaces between SMS and other systems Preferred Individual: A well experienced professional with a proven ability to simplify and organize complex information. This individual will focus on the SMS client, with specific emphasis on packaging, testing, troubleshooting, problem solving, design requirements, analysis and deployment and implementation of SCCM 2007 Job Requirements The following qualifications are required for this position: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or related field. Equivalent experience can be substituted for degree. 3 + years IT experience in supporting a SMS 2003 environment SCCM 2007 experience Familiarity of SMS Server roles and hierarchy The candidate must demonstrate the ability to plan and execute projects. The candidate will provide assistance and support of SMS Systems Design, Implementation, and Systems Databases and Servers Management; administer and maintain interfaces between SMS and other systems Working knowledge of SMS Client Health to include: Troubleshoot and resolve SMS Client problems Read and interpret .log files on client and SMS Servers Working knowledge of SMS Admin Console features & functions Creation of Collections, Packages and Advertisements Queries, Reports and File collection Creating and Testing Software Packages for distribution to Production Managing and maintaining SMS (SCCM) and Imaging (BDD) laboratory Monitoring Advertisement Status Working knowledge of the Inventory Tool for Microsoft Updates (ITMU) and SMS Software Updates Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks Analytical and problem solving skills Scripting (VB, WMI, ADSI, batch and/or others) SQL Query Development (related to SMS database) MS Office Suite (e.g. Word, Excel, Access, etc.) Prepare and execute project plans for system and application implementations Validate the application and database server hardware/OS configurations to insure that they meet vendor specifications Provide 24 x 7 on-call support during push Capacity Planning, Disaster Recovery, Project planning and execution Effective time management Effective oral and written communications skills with a proven ability to simplify and organize complex information for executive presentations.
