Duties: Under the direction of the IT Manager or IT Team Leader the incumbents
responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Coordinates
and implements builds and application installs for WebSphere applications on a
scheduled basis; monitors performance of critical system applications and
resolves operational problems in accordance with corporate guidelines; assists
application development staff with the architecture and development of
WebSphere and MQSeries e-commerce applications. Installs and maintains
WebSphere and related software on UNIX and Windows platforms.
This position requires an individual with extensive WebSphere Application
Server Administration experience using WebSphere version 5/6.x in a multi-node,
clustered UNIX (AIX) environment.
This position requires understanding of MQSeries and JMS administration in
support of a WebSphere Application Server infrastructure.
This position requires an individual with experience troubleshooting and
resolving problems related to WebSphere/MQ applications, HTTP, and general
e-commerce infrastructure anamolies.
This position requires advanced UNIX skills and candidates must be capable of
completing administration tasks without GUI toolsets.
The position will require support activities that are outside the normal
office hours (8:00 AM to 5:00 PM) and require working on weekends and holidays.
Requirements:
BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience and 5-6 years of WebSphere
Administration and MQSeries Administration experience with UNIX, NT and/or
OS/390 systems.
Abilities/Skills:
Position requires MVS (OS/390), Windows NT and UNIX operating systems, strong
PC skills, excellent communications skills (both verbal and written) and the
ability to work both independently and as a member of a team. Candidates must
have ability to perform project management responsibilities for small projects
and be able to function independently as WebSphere representative on large,
enterprise technology and software development projects.
Preferred:
Experience with DB2/ORACLE/SYBASE database management software, JAVA
development, CICS, TIBCO, WebSphere Portal Server and/or client-server
development is preferred.
