NEED INDEPENDENT CONSULTANTS
Duration: 12 months
Location: San Francisco, CA
Position Description: Experience Level: 5-7 years tech experience with at
least 3 years e-business focus. Description: Acts as a liaison between
client area, technical organization, and other affected areas by planning,
conducting, and directing the analysis of complex business problems to be
solved through internet/intranet-based solutions. Responsible for producing
business requirements. Develops project plans and schedules, including
budgets. May perform quality assurance functions, systems testing, and user
acceptance.
The Title of this Position is: Product Operations Analyst
Detail:
AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY: Production Management
Manage day to day operational aspects of supported applications. Work
closely with internal partners and external vendors to manage production
issues. Ensure appropriate focus is placed on production issues where the
customer experience is adversely impacted. Assign similar severity to issues
that result in system failures or our partners having to implement manual
work-arounds. Whenever necessary, coordinate required resources to
effectively resolve acute production issues. Work towards becoming the SME
on supported applications, utilizing business specifications and development
team interactions to gain knowledge of the system's intricacies.

AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY: Defect management
Work closely with support teams as well as Product and Release Management to
manage the backlog of production defects. Hold regular meetings to discuss
the severity, impacts and technical details of new defects to ensure they
are well understood and agreed on by all parties. Work closely with Release
Management to ensure defects are prioritized for releases, taking in
consideration the shared resources for projects and MRs. Attend release
meetings to review technical documentation, sizings and ambiguities of
requested defects to ensure smooth deployment. Coordinate ad-hoc meetings
as needed to further clarify any and all details related to defects.

AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY: Communication
Become the central source of information related to the operational health
of supported platforms. This will be achieved by carrying out regular
Operations meetings where production issues can be raised and communicated
from and to our internal partners.
Communicate as needed to internal and external partners during and after
production issues to keep them apprised of the status and impact as the
issues develop. Communication may include email summaries, meetings or
phone conversations.
Effective communication is essential to obtain consensus on the impacts of
production issues, their root causes and the optimal path to resolution.

AREA OF RESPONSIBILITY: Metrics and Analysis
Establish and maintain repeatable and reliable operational metrics for
supported applications that can be utilized to communicate the operational
health of the application and to resolve customer impacts. Find or create
opportunities for new reporting wherever possible.
Perform analysis of production data utilizing available tools (Excel,
Access, etc) to support decisions that are made in response to production
issues or in anticipation of planned changes. Provide recommendations to
management regarding decisions that affect the application based on reliable
conclusions supported by data analysis. Utilize data to evaluate
performance trends and to make recommendations to avoid problems before they
manifest themselves.
