Update from the Manager: Minimum of 1 year of relevant Symbian experience in
multimedia with expertise in MMF/ECAM/DevSound/DevVideo/graphics. If the person
has no Symbian experience, but has multimedia experience, knowledge of
frameworks like OpenMAX or Gstreamer may allow us to overlook the lack of
Symbian experience.
Strong problem solving skills is a must, but that's pretty hard to judge from a
resume.

Software Engineers who will be designing and developing multimedia
applications, middleware and drivers using the Symbian OS on QCT's product
line. Multiple positions exists including opportunities for leading small
teams.
Skills/Experience
Minimum 3yrs experience in Symbian middleware/driver/applications
development is required.
Strong C/C++ skills, object oriented design, and component based SW
development and debugging background required.
Requires solid understanding of Computer Architecture and Operating
System concepts.
Knowledge of multimedia technologies such as video and audio engines.
Knowledge of multimedia frameworks like OpenMax and OpenGL
Must be able to work in a small and dynamic team environment.
Additional Skills
Education Requirements
BS/MS in Computer Science preferred.
BS/MS in related areas such as Computer Engineering/Electrical
Engineering is acceptable if the candidate has proven experience that matches
the skill requirements listed above.
