Position Title: JAVA Technical Architect
Location: Jersey City, NJ
Tax Term: FULLTIME
Visa Status: US Citizen, GC, H1B
Our Client is now hiring a Technical Architect to join their high
performance team engaged in architecting; developing and delivering
J2EE based distributed applications.
In this role, you will evaluate and implement solutions using
architectures, technologies and platforms such as SOA, MoM, BPM, J2EE,
web 2.0, databases and open source frameworks.
Responsibilities
• Provide J2EE technical leadership in architecting,
designing, implementing and managing large scale, complex mission-
critical applications requiring high performance and availability.
• Identify and implement best practices in the team and across
the projects organization
• Develop and maintain a high-level of expertise in new
application frameworks and platforms
• Gather business requirements and envision solutions
• Work with customers to gain a fundamental understanding of
how the software solution will be utilized.
Experience:
• At least 6 years of experience in J2EE application
development
• At least 3 years experience as an Architect and leading
teams of 4 or more team members.
• Track record of Architecting, designing, implementing and
delivering software in a results-oriented environment.
Skills:
• Capable of product-level (multi-module) design and
architecture
• Ability to understand issues related to module abstraction,
platform issues and design for change, at the system level
• Ability to conceptualize and propose new designs, create
prototypes and proof-of-concepts and drive their end-to-end
implementation.
• Strong knowledge of software development methodologies and
best design practices.
• Application server experience including Jboss, WebLogic,
Tomcat, etc.
• Proficient in domain modeling, database modeling and
database skills.
• Experience with build systems (Ant, Maven), unit testing
tools (Junit, HttpUnit, etc), version control software and defect
tracking systems.
• Strong experience with a number of open source frameworks
such as Spring, Hibernate, JBPM, Axis, Drools, Quartz, etc
• Good understanding of SOA and Web Services
• Good writing, technical documentation and verbal
communication skills
• Proven team management and collaboration skills
• Should be hardworking, focused and highly committed
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
Highly Desired Skills
• Product development experience
• Understanding of product lifecycle
• Experience in managing multiple product releases
• Total experience ranging from 7 to 9 yrs
Good to have
• Project Management experience
• Masters in Computer science or related engineering from a
reputed school
Education:
• B.S in Computer Science or related engineering discipline
from a reputed school
