Web Architect *Location: Reston, VA* *Start Date: ASAP* *Contract Length: 2+ months (possible extension upto 12 months)* *Overview:* We currently have an opening in Reston, Virginia for an Architect with strong drive and experience in Web architecture, architecture integration or end-to-end business support system (BSS) architecture. This position will require the ability to provide guidance on architecture and integration for Web technologies or BSS systems, and ultimately supporting decisions for the clients future architectural roadmap. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in any or all of the following including web technologies, integration architecture and business support system integration and architecture. Responsibilities: • Interfaces with Technology and Business stakeholders to gather, define, and document architecture requirements. • Assist in the definition of future state BSS or Web architecture. • Analyzes requirements expectations to develop reliable and flexible software architectures. • Drives technical design and implementation with a hands-on approach. Authors architecture specifications and participates in the creation of detailed technical design documents. • Proactively raises issues if specification will lead to quality, system performance, or architectural issues in product. • Recommends action plan and communicates issues to management, architects, and product managers. • Creates functional, operational, and interface architecture models. Understands human-system interfaces to develop suitable architectures supporting ease of use and usability. • Performs decision analysis, simulation, optimization, and decision-making to support the evaluation and selection of alternative software architectures. *Qualifications:* *• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Computer Science, IT, business, or related field * *• Demonstrates strong written and oral communication skills in the English language * *• Minimum of 7 to 10 years of experience in Web architecture, BSS architecture or integration architecture * *• At least 4 years of experience in developing large-scale enterprise business solutions in a multi platform environment * *• Proven ability, knowledge, and at least 3 years of experience in a mix of the following technologies: Java, J2EE/EJB, XML, JavaScript, UNIX, Web Servers/HTTP, Object Oriented Design, MVC Patterns (Struts) * *• At least 3 years of experience in the development and operations of enterprise-grade web sites based on Java/JSP/Java Script technologies * *• At least 3 years of experience as a software developer * *• At least 1 year of experience in designing large scale, distributed architectures * *• At least 2 years of experience in leading software teams; the candidate should be an expert in more than one type of Software Development Lifecycle* If you are interested in this position please respond with updated resume rate and Contact details ASAP.
