opening for a *Linux Embedded System Software Engineer (2 positions) – Toronto, Canada*. This is a 6 Months contract position. The Hourly rate is DOE. * Job description* We are in need of 2 expert Linux developers for a roughly 6 month contract to work on an agile team for a key project. The work involves implementing device drivers and middleware components in an embedded Linux environment. There will also be work with WiFi configuration and communication. *Responsibilities *• Design and implement Linux middle ware components such as application timers, Interprocess communication, system status tracking and control, and event notification. • Implement WiFi configuration and IP communication stack • Assist in integrating Linux build components • All development must be done with Test Driven Development (TDD) *Qualifications* • BS/MS EE/CS or equivalent with 5+ years of experience in embedded Linux system software. • 5+ years experience writing Linux device drivers and middle ware. • Excellent knowledge of Linux OS and Linux internals. • Excellent programming skills in C/C++ • Extensive experience with makefiles and building large and complex software systems. • Strong experience with all phases of software development cycle on embedded systems including design, implementation, and debugging. • Strong English communication skills *Preferred additional skills *• Familiar with Eclipse environment IDE. • Java and object oriented design methodology. • Networking protocols (TCP/IP) • Experience with WiFi networking • Experience working in an Agile development team • XML* * *Please complete the following skills matrix and send back with your resume* .
