Client is embarking on an ambitious long-term effort to transition our existing java application base to a new and modern technical architecture. Our technical team has recently completed the definition phase of a new technical environment and will soon begin the long process of converting all of our client applications over to that environment. This is an opportunity to get involved at the ground level of a significant development effort. The ideal candidate will be an expert Java developer, and will have significant expertise in many of our newly-adopted technologies. These technologies include OSGI, Spring, JPA, Ruby, Maven, Hudson, Eclipse, Git, and Linux. OSGI Framework 0 3 Solid understanding of OSGI required. Relevant experience using in a production environment is highly desirable Java Persistence API (JPA) 1 3 Advanced understanding of, and relevant experience with object-relational mapping using JPA (or similar technique) in a performance-critical production environment. Unit Testing/TDD 1 3 Experience on a development team with solid unit testing processes a must. Test-driven development experience a significant plus. Linux 1 3 Experience with Linux as a development platform and also a solid understanding of Linux fundamentals is beneficial.
